Kings need a point off the bench who can score.
Devan Downey is the name that sticks out for me. Watched that upset of Kentucky where he dropped 30 on them - I think that's when the Wildcats had their short run as Number 1. He will be an immediate fan favorite for his firepower, and even more so for his fire.
If it's not Downey in that position, then maybe Tyrese Rice. Another smaller guy who can put the ball in the hole.
Chism is a guy with some name recognition... but I don't see him taking minutes from Greene, Casspi or Garcia.
Googled Jason Thompson's bro Ryan, he might make the team as another scorer off the bench.
The Finals proved that tough defense and timely scoring is what brings championships. Looks like we're going to have tough defense covered. This next year, more than any other, the Kings will be in games even when the shots aren't falling.
It will be fun to watch our young Kings find a way to win those games.
There are so many things to look forward to next year:
Tyreke's improvement - dude is only 21. How long will it take for him to be ranked amongst the best?
Our new frontcourt toughness... Semi-forgotten is Carl Landry. He learned our system on the fly. A half-year plus training camp will only improve his effectiveness.
How long will it take Cousins to earn the starting 5 spot?
Will Westphal play Dalembert and Whiteside at the same time?
Will Greene continue his improvement? Casspi?
Has Beno proven to be a solid, if not clutch, veteran? The Slovenian Fisher?
I hope that more people in Sac get fired up this upcoming season... these young guys deserve "the old Kings fans" who rocked Arco no matter our record.
