Is it just me or does every Kings fan who's watching these summer league games watch them with a non-stop smile?

Back to back ROY's is looking like a real possibility. How long until he is starting? I love his attitude on the court. Best rookie bigman the league has seen in sometime. At long last we have a beast at the 5.

I hope Westphal starts Cousins right away... just like with Tyreke. And I hope Whiteside gets minutes and doesn't go to the D League.

Let's throw these young guys into the fire!

I wonder if Dalembert can play PF. I would like to see Cousins at Center and Dalembert at PF at times.

Cousins-Dalembert-Landry-Greene-Evans. That enough size for you?

I still say bring Cousins off the bench initially. He looks great right now, but the regular season is a different story. Give him 20-25 minutes a night off the bench. Then later if he shows he's ready for more, we can move him into the lineup.

I like this rotation

Starting

5- Cousins

4-Thompson

3-Caspi

2- Garcia (We are really weak at the two)

1- Reke

Landry helps us coming off the bench more than starting, still give him more minutes than Thompson just not with Cousins, Caspi and Reke all on the court (not enough shots for everyone).Thompson is a much better player at the 4 than the 5 anyway.

With the lack of good starting centers let alone servicable back ups, and Cousins superior post game he will get a lot of bigs in foul trouble. Then you bring in Dalembert or Whiteside to ball hawk at the hoop which helps our lack of depth at the gaurd position. Beno would no longer be such a defensive liabilty with help.

I see Caspi and Donte playing equally this year depending on who has the hot hand.

If we can pick up a decent 2 gaurd who can handle the ball a little and stroke the 3 (someone like Reddick but a swapmeet cheaper version of him) I smell a first round exit in the playoffs for this squad.

I think Dalembert starts and Cousins gets his minutes the old fashioned way. I start Greene and bring in Casspi as a 6th man for instant offense (hopefully, he can produce). I start Landry for some offensive balance. Bring in the defensive guys to hold the lead while Cousins goes on the offensive. Tyreke starts at the point and then moves to the 2 while Beno runs the show for awhile. Cisco starts at the 2 until we can upgrade.

No way you start Casspi over Greene....Greene plays more within the offense, Casspi is a gunner.  Bring Casspi off the bench unless you want to piss off your 2 franchise players with Casspi's ball hogging.  Dude is a defensive liability (see last summer league game where he got LIT THE FUKK UP by Ellington) and he is too busy looking to score where he should be flowing with the offense and playing off what Tyreke and Cousins create.

Matter of fact, the more I think about it the more Casspi helped the T-Wolves in that game instead of us.  He almost single handedly lost the game for us but thankfully Elie brought Greene back in the game and Greene made sure to get the ball to Cousins.  Casspi wouldn't even get the ball to Cousins and you can tell it was irritating Cousins because he neglected to give him a high 5 on a couple occassions, especially at the free throw line.

Starters...
1. Evans
2. Garcia
3. Greene
4. Landry
5. Cousins

Casspi should come off the bench with the mentality of lighting it up every game. I want him to be the Mad Gazelle... launching threes, driving to the hole with reckless abandon, and being irritating to the opponent.

Beno, Dalembert and Thompson should be steady veterans who come in and settle everything down, or put the foot to the throat.

Given the chance, Whiteside will have several "how did he get to that?" blocks.

Will be interesting to see Westphal's defense/offense substitutions at end of games. Kings will have at least one game-winning blocked shot this season.

The regular season is definitely a different story. Cousins has looked like a nice surprise but alot of the shots he's making is against VERY soft defense. It remains to be seen whether he's going to be able to pull muscle or use his quickness to beat a seasoned vet. Some have called him a top 10 center already, and I'd probably agree with that assumption. I can't think of 9 Centers who are better then he is and it's only summer league. I'd say in a few years he will be THE center of the NBA.

Did anyone else hear on 1140 this morning that the Kings are looking at bringing Douby back as a cheap shooter instead of spending any money on a legit #2....
