Thomas does not fit into Monte McNair’s or any other NBA team’s plans. The top 10 are pretty straight-forward. Basically, the same team as last year, except swaping in Tyrese for Bogi and moving Buddy to the starting 5. Also, really excited to see what marvin can bring to the starting 5. It kind of feels like his rookie season all over again. I just hope he can stay healthy. According to McNair, Alvin Gentry and Rex Kalamian are revamping the offensive and defensive strategies this year. Hoping to see more of a run-and-gun Kings team like 2018-19, but with some defense this time. The second half is where it gets debatable. I really want to see what the new guys can bring to the squad and am more inclined to go with the unknown than the knowns in some cases. Starting 5 - I think they'll be better than people predict 1. Glenn Robinson III 4. Nemanja Bjelica 5. Hassan Whiteside Second 5 off the bench - Would expect to see Tyrese or Cory running the point for this squad, but i had to come with 5. 1. Justin James 2. Vince Edwards - I like his size at the wing and want to see more. The 3 cuts 1. Kyle Guy - Just not sold on him 2. Frank Kaminsky - He could surprise, but somehow i doubt it. 3. Quinton Rose - Just too many guards on this team.

Latest numbers being floated. Four years for $72 million for Bogi in Atlanta? Is the Serb worth $18M/year? Maybe. Should the Kings match? Probably not. Sign-and-trade with the Hawks? Don’t see why the ATL would do that as they can just sign him outright. 😣

As of Saturday afternoon, only the Knicks and Hawks have enough room to sign Bogi to an offer sheet. I can see the appeal for Atlanta to go for it, but are they willing to roll the dice on another large contract commitment with Trae’s max extension looming? The Knicks are a mess and it is clear players are still weary of trusting that franchise, so I would be surprised if he chooses New York. However, if money is Bogy’s #1 incentive, then NYC and more years of losing are a perfect match. I just don’t see a path for him to stay in Sac long-term, so if the Kings decide to match any offer, they’ll just have to try and trade him next summer after an awkward 2020-21 season of way too many guards on the roster needing court time. Or, they go with the 3-guard lineup and try to out-gun the league. That would be fun to watch, but not sustainable for long. I’m bored. Something has got to happen this weekend to improve the squad, at least a little.

And as soon as I hit publish, Bogi is gone. I guess Monte has decided to go to a true run-and-gun approach for the Kings. Bogi is a really good player, but is more effective in a slower methodical offense. Buddy can play the fast game and pull up for crazy threes at any point during the break. He'll be happy to stay in Sac now that he will start alongside Fox. With Holiday and now Bogdanovic on the Bucks, that team just got even better. Lucky they are in the East.

I’ve been working hard over the past month to get SacKings.com back to its high standard of design and functionality, and I think we are close. I’m going for the clean look again. No clutter and most importantly, no stupid ads. This site will never be one of those click-bate sports sites throwing up hot takes for no other reason than to get eyeballs on the page and try to make money. I am looking forward to people joining the community and sharing their thoughts on the Sacramento Kings or NBA in general. I know it will take some time to rebuild any sort of following, but you must start somewhere, right? Would love to hear any and all feedback on what people would like to see on the site.
